What makes a great skin care product?
February 23, 2010
We spend a lot of time covering great skin care products but not nearly enough time examining just what that means. Today we will focus on outlining the qualities of a truly great skin care product. Here are some of the things we look for in a best-of-class product. First and foremost, it has to perform. If and only if the product in question does what it says will it be eligible for consideration. In almost every case, we are purchasing skin care products because we want them to be highly effective at giving us a particular beauty result whether that is bronzing, plumping, smoothing, moisturizing, exfoliating, etc. Next, we look at the ingredients and potential for unwanted of harmful side effects. Skin care should be just that and anything you put on your skin that could do damage is something we do our best to avoid. With those things in place, we look next to the application process. I know most women are very busy and don’t have the extra free time in their schedules to deal with products that are difficult or time consuming to apply. Finally the price point plays an important role as well. To a certain extent, there will always be a price to pay for quality. Good products contain good ingredients and are manufactured under strict quality standards and all of these things cost money. With that being said, we strive to identify products that are both effective and affordable to the average skin care buyer.
